Mukh Abhyanga
Traditional Indian Face Massage
Mukh Abhyanga is a deeply therapeutic Āyurvedic face massage designed to cleanse, rejuvenate, and restore balance to both the skin and the subtle energy systems of the body. This treatment consists of three key elements:
Castor oil cleanse & lymphatic massage
– Gently detoxifies the skin, improves circulation, and enhances oxygenation.Marma point stimulation
– Activates vital energy points to harmonise the nervous, circulatory, and lymphatic systems.Jojoba oil Kansa wand massage
– Utilises a handcrafted bronze wand to balance skin pH, release tension, and promote overall well-being.
The lymphatic system is one of the most powerful systems in the body, playing a key role in immune function, detoxification, and fluid balance. Gentle lymphatic massage on the face encourages toxin removal, enhances circulation, and refreshes the skin.
Marma points, the body’s vital energy centers, are stimulated to promote emotional and physical balance. This technique dissolves tension in facial muscles, improves microcirculation, and helps relieve:
Insomnia
Eye strain
Sinus congestion
Tension headaches
Jaw tension and TMJ disorders
At the heart of this treatment is the Kansa wand, a tool made from 99.9% pure bronze (a combination of copper, tin, and zinc). This ancient Ayurvedic instrument enhances natural electrical balance, draws out excess acidity, and relaxes facial muscles, leaving the skin radiant and refreshed.
Beyond skin deep, Mukh Abhyanga works on a subtle energetic level, helping to restore balance to the mind-body connection through the Nadis (energy channels) and Chakras.

Pada Abhyanga
Traditional Indian Foot Massage
In Āyurveda, the feet are considered the foundation of the entire body—not just structurally, but functionally. Any weakness or imbalance in the feet can lead to discomfort and dis-ease throughout the body. Similarly, stress and health imbalances often manifest in the feet, accumulating in the connective tissue lining the soles.
Pada Abhyanga, the traditional Indian foot massage, is a deeply therapeutic Āyurvedic treatment that focuses on stimulating five key Marma points—vital energy centers where the life force (Prana) flows. By applying specific massage techniques and gentle pressure to these points, this treatment helps to:
Restore balance and enhance overall well-being
Reduce stress and promote deep relaxation
Support immune function by activating the body's natural healing response
Improve circulation and lymphatic drainage
Enhance sleep quality
Aid digestive health
Support eye health
At the heart of this treatment is the Kansa bowl, a small handcrafted bronze bowl used to massage the feet. This ancient Ayurvedic tool is known for its ability to draw out excess heat, helping to refresh and energise the body’s natural energy channels.
Ideal for everyone, especially those who spend long hours on their feet, Pada Abhyanga can also be combined with Hasta Abhyanga (Āyurvedic hand massage) for a full-body relaxation experience. This powerful combination enhances joint care, relieves pain, and supports conditions such as arthritis, rheumatism, and repetitive strain injuries. It is also highly beneficial during times of emotional distress, as it calms the nervous system and promotes a sense of peace.
Our one-day workshop teaches you how to safely and effectively perform Traditional Indian Foot Massage (Pada Abhyanga) through a structured hands-on approach. This course is designed for beginners and professionals alike, offering step-by-step guidance on key techniques and protocols.
